Hey guys!

I got this guy to to a 3d animation in studio max. I later want to throw it into flash, but this is were i get stuck. He produced it using TGA files so it has a transparent background. When i looked at the render there were two sets of images, a colour one and a black and white one.

Now how do i get this group of images to work in after effects with a transparent background?

Thanks for your help!!

F1

In AE:
Load both sequences, then...

Effects > Channel > Set Matte (on vision layer, not black and white)

Render as tiff sequence with alpha channel

In Flash:
import into flash > break apart individual frames > select mask tool then magic wand, and delete the 'invisible' colour which will actually show up as a very faint white flat colour regardless (in flash).

you can render as png sequence in after effects to keep transparency , so then you can just import it into flash without having to break apart.
