The illustration/photoshopping is cool, but aside from that the design is pretty standard, I think. It's weird that none of the posts have titles... And there's a horizontal scrolling glitch in chrome.

Right of the bat, I noticed that it took quite some time to load. Though it is considerable as the content is full with images. Aside from the colorful header and footer, the design was pretty basic. Just made good use of basic contrasting colors so it stood out from sites you visit regularly. I think such is displayed as the site is about creative stuff and less on the more professional or I guess the better term is serious ones.

Thanks for sharing but I don't find anything interesting in particular with the header (just a large picture with the logo Matt) and footer is yet another large background picture. All of these makes the site loads slow and this creates a bad user experience.

I prefer minimalist design which loads fast for users, an example would be my gaming blog (http://ayumilove.net/) with blue black white theme and distractions put aside.
