Just an idea...

if your willing to spend some $$$ :P

you could look into http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashcom/

you will need to buy the progam and a find a host that has a flashcom server.

you could allso look in to Windows Media Encoder

:P

If you don't want it broadcast live, there are much easier alternative such as the free Windows Media Encoder which is extremely easy to configure into a WMV with a bitrate of your choice. You can also setup a live broadcast, but I don't know how to set it up :)

I was curious, so I searched around for you:

http://www.softandco.com/Internet/Communications/c/97/a/3383/Active%20WebCam.html
(^ This one might do it for you)
http://www.webcamsoft.com/en/ezcast.html
http://www.webtrain.com/main/webtrain.asp
(^ looks expensive!!)
http://www.hot4download.com/Internet/Magellan_webcam_24.htm
(I've heard of Magellan, but don't remember where...)
http://www.picturemehot.com/CactusVision_WebCam_Info.asp
(^ Chat room setup?)

...Then the list started getting into **** (I guess I can't say the dreaded 'p' word...rhymes with 'corn') and German sites...:sigh:

Let me know if any of those help because I have been interested in something like that for my website...

On an unrelated note, on your footer...what makes the sparkles? Is there a million rollOver buttons on it? Because it's not onMouseMove....I've always wondered that...:P

Good luck!

I think the Real Player people have that program called "Real Producer" or something...though you were able to do it with that.

I don't really like the Real company though lol.

I think it would be better to record the wedding and then transfer it to your pc and then post it on the net for your friends to download...it will be a lot better quality and a whole lot easier.

I don't know that a webcam will give a very good picture and frankly, i've never been able to get ANYTHING to stream properly...it's always laggy (on my DSL at home and the super fast LAN here at college).

www.website.co.uk

All done. One Media Stream installed as below:

Subdomain : mms://movies.site.com Alias : wedding
Number of streams : 1
FTP Password : *********

You must choose a sub domain for your new streaming media mount point. This
must be either a sub domain of a domain already added to your control panel,
or, a sub domain of our shared media domain stream.me.uk. Once this sub
domain is configured as a mount point, you will not be able to use it to
host websites, but only for streaming content. DONE
You must also choose a unique alias for your mount point. This is the folder
in which your media will be stored. For example, if your domain was
movies.example.com and your chosen alias was wedding, your users would
access your files by typing:

http://movies.example.com/wedding/prop1.asf
or
mms://movies.example.com/wedding/prop1.asf

Media streaming is charged by the number of simultaneous connections you
wish to allow to your mount point (streams).

Each stream provides a maximum of 64Kbps and costs £5.00 + VAT per month.

I got an email from my friends hosting company on this, can anyone understand or can translate what exactly they want me to do or they are trying to do :-s

Thanx again :)
