A few things I would like to ask all of my friends on this forum. OK, here goes. Firstly, I have done this very simple site for a friend for free, it includes graphics, flash, the whole lot. I did it for free. I wonder this, How much would you charge for a site of this size - graphics, flash etc? (please try and imagine all the links working. The only ones that do are home page, map page and contact page) When cosidering how much you might charge, please imagine a similar approach to all links. (I am in the uk but have a currency converter:)
I have posted little bits of this project before, If you have seen any before, ignore those and tell me what you think of this attempt. I am new to the whole process, graphics and web design and I don't claim to be a good designer.
Any sort of feedback would be great, I know you are all more than willing.
Thank you my friends.

depends on how much ur theoretical client knows about flash..... :chinaman:
its not bad, but its not the greatest site ive ever seen. kinda bland. sorta needs an html background for people on higher resolutions. some images are really pixelated. im not really a fan of the transitions, and is it not one single swf? it looks to me like u link to different html pages. kinda a wierd setup.
but it certainly better than some sites ive seen, and some ive created in the past... i would say 150-200 usd is fairly resonable. ive seen far, far, far worse sites charge way more than that.
cheers

Thank you for those comments. To be honest, I have only spent the last 6 months learning all the stuff out there (STUDIO mx, Photoshop, etc) I certainly would never expect to be able to create a world class site with my limited knowledge. Even 5 years years down the road, I know there will be people who can wipe the floor with me. Like you say, it is bland but what I am trying to do is a site with my knowledge at the moment. As you say, I have made it in Dreamweaver and it is different HTML pages with flash on each one. I did not realise that this is the wrong thing to do? It is possible to do the site entirely in flash but I thought it might take a long time to download.
All the best.

by no means is flash on each html page the wrong thing to do. ive just never seen it done before.
a site all in flash can take a long time to download, there are ways around that. preloaders, load external swfs, etc
keep it up

I live in the UK and I'd estimate the cost of that site at 70+ but under 100. Although it looks kinda good you haven't really used much scripting in your flash and the graphics side hasn't been used with great effects. As for the fact you did it for free, its not a question of cost at the end of the day your name will be on that site as the designer so you've got to be happy with the design yourself as its your reputation.

MrG,
Thanks for the comments. I don't really know what further scripting you refer to with regards to flash. What could I do? a game? I honestly don't know what sort of thing you mean. I am very new to all of this, having only had the computer for about 9 months. It is great having criticism from a fellow Yorkshireman
thanks

by more scripting i think he means having it all in one swf with actionscritping used to create the button links, transitions, preloaders, etc
