I have been working with AS3 the last two years.
But never programmed a game from top to bottom.
I am looking for a book that will teach me game programming methods using OOP and of course AS3.
I would love to hear your suggestions.

For complete beginners, you could try "Foundation Game Design". It covers very basic AS3.0 in game contexts, and a very gentle introduction to OOP.

But if you've been programming for a few years (and have 230 posts on Kirupa ;) ) you might find these more helpful:

- "The Essential Guide to Flash Games" - by the 8 Bit Rocket team
- "Real-World Flash Game Development"
- "ActionScript 3.0 Game Programming University"

..they're all good, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, so you'll need to browse through them a bit and see which seems right for your level and what you hope to accomplish. We're lucky, there are some really good AS3.0 game books out at the moment. It was a pretty bleak scene when I first started.

Thanks for your answer =).
In fact I am between the first two. A bit closer to "Real-World Flash Game Development" because of its companion website (http://www.flashgamebook.com/) (haven't found one for "The Essential Guide to Flash Games" though...)
I need to "grow" my OOP weaknesses and learn tactics through game development.
I am looking for plain, practical concepts that I apply immediately. Maybe more intermediate to advanced kind of level. And of course simple king of writing.

... I usually buy every book I can find, and then pick and choose things I find helpful and can use. It's the Scorched Earth tactic ;) Yes, it's a bit of cash, but I figure if something in a book saves me even an hour of work, it's more than paid for itself.
