Hi,
I am starting out a new project/website. The site will be viewed by all sorts of visitors who are, or are NOT updated with new computers/screens and their main interest will be finding information.
What are you out there calcualting with in terms of minimum/maximum screen width nowadays? The site will not be a Flash one but Wordpress-based.

Hi Kathari
This might be of use, I find it quite handy. Type in your url at the top and it will show the results.

I usually design a site within the 900px range. There are fewer and fewer people using 800x600 and the 1024x768 resolution seems to be more common place nowadays than in the past. Of course this is within the 4:3 ratio screens. With people switching to widescreen the width of sites is increasing but since most corporate businesses are 4:3 it's best to stay within that 1024x768 mind set.

What I've seen many websites do is keep all content within 800px width, center it, and use a nice vertical-repeated background. That seems the best to me. :)
