I'm in western New York and we're expected to get some 70 mile per hour gusts and rain and stuff, nothin too bad. But it should be fun. Now I can say I've lived through 1.00000002 huricanes. This one being the .00000002 part.

early fall is the best time to be in SF (weather wise)... 70 @ the beaches, 85-90 inland, nice gentle breezes, Tourons have gone back to the Midwest...
The Giants are Champs, and are going to win it all this year...

Well, the winds are picking up, and dying down a bit, then picking up MORE and dying down, and picking up A HELL OF A LOT, then dying down, and repeat, getting slightly stronger each time.
I live a bit farther from toronto than you, but still within 1hour.

canada is not going to get crap... ooh, a storm...
I'm in the DC area... shouldn't be that bad... 70 mph winds - it takes 110 to break windows. Some trees have fallen so far, but things are pretty calm so far. The heavy winds will start at around 9.
Everyone around here is like "Ooh, a hurricane... how cool!" I'm from Miami, I moved there immediately after hurricane andrew and I've been through two hurricanes since... My parents are still living in Miami and seriously, there's more coverage about the hurricane over there than over here.

oh man, i just had one of the highlights of my time at my new apartment:
tonight we had a home game (Virginia Tech vs. Texas A&M - 35-19, us of course) despite the weather. after we won, my friends and i decided to take a visit to my jacuzzi at the clubhouse, just to, you know, "check it out". before you knew it, all our shirts were off, we were jumpin in the pool and quickly making it to the jacuzzi, and overall, just having a good time, with the wind, rain, Isabel, and everything not stopping us :bad:
I would've posted a picture, but my friend's camera decided to die as it was saving the picture.
...and you know what, not a single one of us was drunk :!:

It's definatly not extreme here or anything (london Ontario Canada) the it's raning like crazy and the wind is terrible. It's supposed to get a bit worse too....
Nothing compared to those poor people in NC though... :(

Lovely sunshine over here, lads. :)
I've seen pictures of this all over the papers and the news... England never seems to get any of this though, apart from that one back in '87...

An update, just in case anyone cares:
I'm without electricity or water right now (at home, not at work), and it's estimated that the services won't be back for 4-7 days..:(
So if anyone came up to me and called me a dirty mexican, I'd just have to be like, "well, what can I say?"

Don't worry, us kirupans will chip in and send you bottled water.

Well, the "tropical storm Isabel" hit us today. Yawn. It was just like a regular storm - except no thunder/lightning and it lasted more or less the whole day:

3-4 weeks? Where the hell do you live?
tobydog
September 26th, 2003, 09:11 AM
James Store - VA.
3 - 4 weeks is not bad, compared to people in the surrounding area. No power plus they lost everything.
The Red cross and FEMA are all over the place.
