Yay! This will totally rock. I leave for college tomorrow morning :) It looks like it wil be a total blast but I wil miss all my friends from here. Hopefully we will stay in touch. For you older people out there, did you keep in touch with your really good high school friends or did you find that you just kinda drifted apart.

well i think for me it was different because i only had like 2 great friends in high school. my boyfriend, whippersnapper (on kirupa forums), and my best friend rachelle. everybody else was in the "acquaintance" category.

another thing, my university is in the same town as my high school is, so that's another thing.

so i'd have to say, the closest friends i've kept being the closest with. but as far as other people go, ones i'd had class with or talked to on a regular basis but never really hung out with them, sometimes i have trouble remembering names of those people.

this is a good time to separate your true friends from acquaintances. Real friends will stay in touch and the ones that aren't wont. But you will make many many more new friends...Just dont forget your true friends.

and if you have a girlfriend/boyfriend now.....you may as well chalk that one up....long distance relationships never work....especially while in college

Only 600 - pfft! More like 120000 miles for me :) Good luck btw! It's actually a blast once you look beyond all the work.....and all that work :)

yup. Thats why I didn't go to MIT Kirupa. I had to choose between the 2 and it basically came down to I would like to have fun at the same time.

I'm being sarcastic though. As long as you manage your time, you'll have plenty of time to do things. There will be a few short periods (like the next two days) where the work is overwhelming, but Stanford isn't the easiest place either :)

The friends you make in college are the friends you'll have for the rest of your life.

Honestly, I only talk to like 3 people from my high school anymore. I wouldn't worry much about it. Just live your life - and whatever happens, happens. Communication is a 2 way street - your friends have to try and keep up the relations too. So dont' fret none. Stuff will unfold the way it's going to. It's your job to adapt to it all

You'll love college! Get out, meet people, and remeber that grades arent everything. You'll get the same piece of paper if you graduate with a C or an A ... doesn't really matter. Just do what you have to do, and enjoy it all.

It's those people who worry too much about succeeding who oft times are the ones who fail

We always hang out as a group, we've all gone to the same parties and whatnot, and just had great times.

make the most of the people you meet in college. separate your friends wisely.
