I have been developing applications in Visual C++ and C#.Net using Visual Studio IDE on Windows platform.

Now due to organizational needs, we are planning to migrate to Linux Platform.

Please provide an alternative IDE for Visual Studio in Linux.

http://monodevelop.com/ Is probably what you are thinking of. Still costs for commercial use I believe, but should work out fine.

I presume you need this for ASP.net applications, which this should handle, but could also be used for regular desktop applications.

I want to build realtime server application and not a simple desktop application. My query is Will Monodevelop suffice my requirements. If not please suggest any other IDE on which I may build my (Linux O.S.) application.

Yes, MonoDevelop will do what you need.

Starting to think you're a rubut.
