Trouble! site loads way too slow on some people's computers!

Hey guys,

I designed this site: www.theco_kpitstore.com (replace underscore with "c".

There is an initial "splash" page that loads quickly and then there is the content that loads after you press "enter site".

The content loads in a matter of 5 or 6 seconds for about 90 percent of the people who have viewed it so far. The other ten percent say it takes close to a minute to load! Why is that?

How come this is happening? These people are all on high-speed connections too? What do I have to change? Has anyone had this problem before?

u say all the folks are on high speed. well first of all, theres a lot of variety in terms of "high speed. " Is the content Flash? do u have a preloader? server bandwith limitations?? it could be a whole buncha things, u need to provide a little more info for us

I was doing my first mrmass and was like 1.5 mb and yea I got a lot of complains about it size wise... so I did mrmass 2 which was a bit smaller, but instead of building everything in one file I loaded some sections individually without including them to my main movie...now it runs faster...it all about who will see your site, what audience, and if most of the users5 are 6k which u can see on ur server stats then, well u need some rethinking to do. You could keep the opening seperated from the actuall home page...I'll say keep it not more then 300k for home page, but you could make a intro which will be 1.5mb just to show it off.... good stuff
