Mmh - this might seem weird but I was wondering if it was by any means (LocalCOnnect?) possible to create a footer that will 'talk' or interact with other instances of it on the same page... Now I know there is one problem because it's actually the same swf file but I was wondering if anyone had any idea on this :h: ?

cheers, mlk =)

I did that a while back, i had my av talk to my footer. But, it wasn't successful so i took it off the same hour :(

what happens is, if i posted more than once in the same thread, all the footer instances will talk to only to the first avatar loaded, so i had for example 3 footers communicating with only one avatar and the rest recieved nothing :(

look at http://www.syntheticorange.com/?id=7 >> TB-Drawing + LocalConnect.. i can give you the source if you want that =)

Ohh, it would be cool if multiple people did it, like if we could make it so everyone who had ones that connected had little characters that walked around in each others sig. Know what I mean? I of course have no idea how to do this.. but it would be nifty!

you can only connect two swf's together, and since it's LocalConnect (and not NetConnect), the connection works only on the client's machine. What that means is, you cannot connect an swf on my machine with another on yours, you'll have to use NetConnection and FlashComm server to do so...

Try just going through the code, and if there's something you don't understand, i'll explain it to you. If you don't understand it at all, then i'll either write a tute or find one for you :beam:
