Problem getting button to work in AS3.0

Hi All

Would appreciate help on a simple problem that has had me going around in circles.

Got a preloader on frame 1 and my main interface on frame 2 - everything working.

Frame 3 I have my news loading in from XML - all good. But I've got some buttons on frame 3 - AS3.0 and Flash just are not seeing them.

I don't get a rollover and no code works - any suggestions anyone?

Based on that it's really hard to diagnose.

Is the code on frame 3 in the timeline or a document class/external class?
