Hello everyone @ Kirupa land...I am using windows XP with PS version 7. Suddenly since today when PS is loading, it loads everything, from brushes, to tools to Initializing, when once it gets to the part of Color Preferences, everything disappears.. I have restarted the computer, deleted that PS and installed a completely different PS7 but to no avail, I didn't have the problem solved...can someone please help me with this?
thanks
Omar

check your preferences. Also are you sure they are not there. Have you tried to use a brush. One time I thought something like this happened but I just had the tools turned off. Are you getting an error also? If you are using xp. Try going back to a restore point where you were sure everything was working ok. You will not lose files. That is if all else fails. ALso you can contact adobe. If your product is registered. If not register it first.

It seems your prefs file has become corrupted. Delete it, PS will generate a new one when it starts.
prefs file should be in Driveletter:\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings

I had a similar problem a while back, only mine locked up and died whenever it started loading menus. Never even made it into the program. :sure:
A reinstall worked for me...
