I am looking to get a laptop,
I am looking around the net and found a couple of good sites:
http://www.pricewatch.com/
and
http://www.americancomputech.com/smoreinfo.asp?iid=88850
But, did anyone purchase stuff of american computer tech? Or know if its any good or reliable?
Thanks-zorz :P

I haven't used either site ... well, purchased from either site before. I find deals on companies sites, like Dell, and IBM, SONY, and Apple. I think you should have maybe gotten a notebook in late July/August when most of the specials are being run.
But honestly, you just have to keep an eye out on things, and check dealers' sites frequently to be sure you catch those deals when they come out.
I got a CD burner combo drive and a 128 MB upgrade for free when I got my Dell Inspiron 8200 a year ago. Every other place I looked at said I should have payed at least $500 more than I did. You just have to keep an eye open.
If you want, let me know what kind of notebook you're looking for and I'll help you with the search. I'm usually good at finding a solid deal on things. Momma taught me well :)

Yeah, if you can just point me in the right direction...
I am just looking for nothing too fancy, mostly a work computer.. you know MX studos, Photoshop, and It should be able to run 3d programs like 3dSmax...
Athlons 100%.
Thats pretty much it...
I look around American Computer Tech, it seems good, but after you add the hardrive, the cpu. the ram.. etc.. it gets $$$

SONY notebooks use Athlon proccessors ... If you go to their web site you might find something you'll want to use.
Problem is - to run stuff like MX studio and Photoshop, you'll maybe need more RAM than most people will give you. You can either tack it on when you buy the computer, or you can add it on later. It might be better to tack it on later, sometimes it's cheaper that way.
Dell only has Pentium chips, so I dunno if you want one of those - but they make a good notebook for a "low price."
I won't sugar coat it - if you want a desktop replacement with a good video card, good amount of RAM, sizeable hard drive, you're going to have to pay for it :(
Thoshiba makes a good desktop replacement notebook, powerful, but not all that slim and portable (same thing with mostly all desktop replacements). They also use Pentium though. I think Sony is the only one with Athlon chips!!
May I suggest a Mac?! I dunno ... I mean, if I was going to buy a new computer now, I'd get a PowerBook. And it seems like you'd be working with some graphic intensive programs there, and Macs are best for graphics (so I hear from many peoples).
Like I said, I can help you with your search, as a matter of fact, right now I'll try and look up some systems for you before I head out for brunch. Take it easy...

Sony VIAO specs (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=2QhNKK1b39tNOJI4mhpHI-JVFn3JbR7BQmw=?CategoryName=cpu_VAIONotebookComput ers&Dept=cpu&TemplateName=item%2fsy_item_b&ProductSKU=PCGGRT1002A&ContentItemPage=): This seems to be a good one for what you want to do with it. At $1799, it's not all that expensive
Dell Inspiron 8500 (http://catalog.us.dell.com/CS1/cs1page2.aspx?br=7&c=us&CS=19&fm=10418&kc=6V418&l=en&s=dhs): When I customized it, it came to around $1800, and it had 512 MB RAM and a 60GB hard drive. Some good free upgrades on this, and $150 off instantly.
-----------
For right now, check out these 2 machines. I'll post more links if and when I find them. The Toshiba's seem to be a bit pricey, so I didn't want to post it.

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 5150 with a P4 3.06 GHz processor, 15" UXGA screen, 512 MB Ram, Ati Radeon 9000 64MB graphics card, wireless, modem, usb floppy, cd-rw/dvd for only about $1750 or so two months ago.
I'm sure the price for a similarly configured comp from dell should be less now.
