Check out this completely flash based website that my brother and I made for one of our favorite bands. It's their official site and.... we made it, so you got to check it out and tell us what you think.

I don't know if it was because my connection was laggy, but all I saw for a few seconds was the "mailing list" and "forums" at the top, I was a bit confused if I missed something.

I like the morphing when you click on news that makes the menu items slide into the picture area and fit snugly. But instead of clicking "more" twice on the news page, couldn't you do a dynamic scrolling text box? Seems like it would be better because you have no "back" to the "more". You could have tour dates on one side and news on the other in one nice page with no clicking.

On the band page I like the keys being band members. Very cool. Maybe add sounds to the white keys (and even the black ones) since the white keys don't point to anything.

There's a lot of cool things though I think bands should have that you included: setlists, journal, lyrics, live photos.

Other than what I said above maybe add sounds to all the buttons like "news", "band", etc. Since you are a band I think it fits that sound is evident on your site.

Oh and before I go, maybe your mp3's should play in an internal player? Then people don't have to leave your site to download a mp3 (mine went to quicktime in a browser window).

I like the colors, the cool features! Very good job!

Wow, thanks for the in depth review. Your ideas for the news section are great.

We were thinking to make a scroll bar, but we weren't really sure how to go about doing it, so for now we just left it with the more buttons.

Try going back to the band section and putting your volume up a bit. We did make it so that it plays notes when you click the keys, but we'll have to adjust the volume, because it is pretty low.

And about the internal player, we are going to integrate a radio pretty soon that will let you play streaming QSJ songs.

Thanks again for your advice.

I am sure if you search on this forum you can find stuff on dynamic scrolling text boxes. I think a lot of people use them to avoid scrolling, multiple pages of information.

very nice
i liked the morphing transition from the home page to the news, but why didnt u continue it for the other pages?
cant find much else other than that..... personally im not crazy about the color scheme or the font, but thats just me.
maybe up the fps.kinda slow, and the transitions (other than the previously mentioned morphing one) are a little bland

How did you make the morph effect? I LOVE IT!!!

I agree why didn't you use the transition you used for the news section for the rest? Other than that the site is very clean and professional but add those transitions!!

its a bit choppy, try increasing the frame rate and lengthening your tweens. Aside from that, make the audio streaming. Looks good!

We've taken all of your reviews into consideration and have gotten to a few of the major points. We've just recently added an internal streaming mp3 player that plays 30 second clips of some of Quick Step John's songs. We'd appreciate your input on the functionallity of the player as well as that of the rest of the site. Please make sure to tell us what type of connection you have if you come across any problems. Thanks for all your input and keep the comments coming!
