It not only includes the number of people going to your site, but also distinguishes several things about the visitors:
- How they accessed your site
- OS
- Screen Resolution
- Browser
- Country
- ...and more!
The counter you (have to) add to your site is nothing more than a redirect link to their site; meaning no flashy ads for them.
