Today, let's remember those who perished on this tragic day two years ago. Prayers go out to their families and friends. Thank you workers for your diligence to rescue, and clean-up.
If you can't say anything respectable, please do not post. This is a thread to honor those who have fallen, the people who lost their lives and their families.

There are 2 important things I will be doing today....
1) Taking time to go through the events of 9/11 in my mind and mourn all those innocents who died and mourn for those who lost family and friends.
2) I will also be taking time to mourn the loss of my father who passed away 9/11/97
So uh, I might not be around much today.

When Days like this creep up on me ... the only benefit is that it improves my value of human life, which in my opinion should have no upper limit

Shane, I'm sorry to hear that one day has to have so much signifigance to you...
...may you wear it well...

Thank you RelandR, and you are right, value of human (or any living creatures) life should have no upper limit.
Thank you kh3mical, and tell your dad I said Happy Birthday. Just because it is a day of mourning doesn't mean he shouldn't enjoy his birthday!

what happened was truly tragic and should be a reminder to everyone that we are not invincible.
also we should take time to think about people around the world who don't have it easy either.
anyways, it also happens to be my coworker's birthday today so it's kinda happy in our office today.

The 9/11 reminds us how vulnerable we are. Any thing could happen to any one at any point. As we are at work, we never know one of those M*** terrorists may decide to blow up the locality...Coming to think of it, is there any place in the world where people could live without fear of loosing everything they have ...guess not...

This is true. I'm not only sad because of America's loss, but the sadness and sorrow that has been inflicted on the entire world by terror.
I hope that everyone here makes the most of the day they can.

Today, I honor the american dead.
All suspicion aside, those caught inside the towers lost the greates thing to them, the rest of their lives.
May harm like this never fall on any nation again.
On this day, 3 years ago all of the world was American.

Absolutely not.
Do we forget the World Wars? Do we forget the Holocuast? Do we forget anyother tragic loss of life on our planet?
I refuse to forget. And your post angers me.
I can understand if we prevoked this attack in some legitamate way. But that is not the case.
T-O do you live in America btw?

Forgive what I'm about to say, and don't take it personal.
That was an idiotic thing to say, you can forget becasue it had to meaning to you. Personally I live in NY, and work in NYC. I see people get scared to death to this day when lights go out in the trains. I know a bunch of people who lost loved ones, during the horrific act of inhumanism.
There are still over 200,000 people out of work since 9/11. Should we forget that T-O? Or should we forget who our mornaic president is asking for $87 biliion to rebuild Iraq? A country who hates us and can't wait to kill us all?
Pfft, I cant go on
Let's all just say a prayer and live today as a tribute and mourne for those who we lost.

2 years, and still going strong. May God continue to bless America, and keep in His favor those who have lost loved ones in those tragic events in NY, central PA, and Washington D.C.
Never forget!! We will must always remember...

T-O, I'm sure you meant well, and your english is probably not so great so thank you for the thought anyway.
May we never forget lest history may repeat itself. I will be praying extra prayers for all of those who lost their lives and their families. May we take this day to remember and celebrate their lives, and not to grieve again their death.

Again keep the spirit of the thread...if you wish to post off topic please do so in another thread. This thread is about honoring those who have fallen on this day and remembering the effects of terrorism on the world. This day is Patriot Day in our country, but it also addresses the evil that exists in the world that would even cause men to commit terrorist acts.
Off color comments are like graphitti on a war memorial.
Let us respect this day and revere it. Celebrate the heros and mourn the loss. This thread is representing America and to show light on those in the world who have suffered similar instances.

today is really a powerful day, for all of the tremendous sadness that it brought, for the first time in my lifetime, it brought our entire country together, democrats and republicans embracing each other. i remember feeling the most patriotic i ever have on that day. i hope that no one ever forgets.
it's also amazing how many emotions it still brings two years later. i can remember everything about that day. and today, while my school was praying in memory of september 11, 2001, it nearly brought me to tears. i hope that everyone feels the same as i about this horrible day, and also that they can look past (not forget) the horror of the day to the good things that it brought, the power that citizens of the USA can muster when they put their minds to it is the reason that i LOVE america. the reason that i would die defending it. the reason that i refuse to live elsewhere. the reason that i will never denounce a president. the reason that it hurts me so much when people speak ill of my country.

that was very touching.
i wouldn't say the democrats and republicans were "embracing" each other though.

I know how the Americans feel about terrorism. I am in England and we've had our share from The IRA over the years. It should not be forgotten and I feel that It might be our turn soon with these Al Quida people. Good luck to all. I hope I got the spelling correct.
