View Full Version : Replying to PMs from "PM blocking" users

Someone on the forum sent me a PM, but when I tried replying back, it gave me the error message:
greensock has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.
If you are trying to send this message to multiple recipients, remove greensock from the recipient list and send the message again.
The thing is, I'm replying to his message, and not creating a new one.
Is there any way to create exceptions for sending PMs if the user has sent messages to you?

This post has by no means moved to the second page, so I can't call it a "bump", but I would like to call this matter to attention... Is this possible?

Sorry, only issues that have me legitimately bumped will receive attention.

I'm pretty sure that vBulletin would have to include that feature for it to show up here; the options for sending and receiving PMs are pretty sparse.
As it stands, it's just an oversight on greensock's part. You have to intentionally opt out of receiving PMs, or select "Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators", so it's her/his fault that you can't reply.

maybe try posting a profile message saying let me send you a PM?

 How can I dig through code all day searching for bugs, finding workarounds, wrapping my mind around new concepts, yet for the life of me I cannot think of something so simple?
Well, it works out anyway. First I got the idea of adding him as a friend, which in some forums then allow private messaging and was worth a try, and then I found his email address on his website. So it worked out...
