Hi...

can anyone tell me how the animation for this flash image was created?

Thanks.

My guess is masks running constantly along the lengths of that picture revealing a different color behind it.

it's an illusion.

they are using masks, but the whole animation only has like two or three frames that just repeat over and over again, but seem to flow smoothly. it looks like they are just scaling the same image and masking it over itself.

To me it looks like imported video with the effect.

What makes me think this?

Well, as many people may know, Flash likes to be retarded with imported images, especially when using them behind masks. They seem to get shifty and not light up right. And when I look at this animation, I don't see any mask lines that you can usually see when you zoom in (when masking images together).

definetely imported video. Reason: when you zoom in loads, you can see the individual pixels.

Agreed I just did a tut from a book in AE. and it basically is pulling off the effect you are seeing. and BTW AE is the bomb

using Sothink's decompiler, it is an image, with transparent bg and scaled with AS...

tricky...

I like it...

i agree with thor and rev

especially noticeable if you look at the right side

the left side you see the scaling-

thats a neato idea
