As usual with my questions, the answer is likely no.
But once in a while I have a typo in the title that's just nagging for me to fix. :wt:

You can change them within the first few minutes of posting the thread by finding the thread in one of the list views… like a forum or search result page… and then double clicking within the bounding box of the Thread / Thread Starter field.
After the first few minutes you'd need to convince a mod to do it for you.

If making the feature possible by just switching a setting from false to true, it might be a good idea to do so, as a few users are helpful so as to rename their titles to "[SOLVED!] ... "
Also, while on the subject, this is supposed to say "of sorts", but it turned into a nice little pun anyway.

But it really doesn't matter.

That's a nice idea.
It would be better to have some thing that marks the thread to solved. :pleased:

Proof reading would go a long way

I meant the author of the thread can mark it as solved. :h:

There are a couple problems with marking threads as solved. Most of the issues occur when people other than the thread started bump a thread to ask the same question or a very similar question. The bumper wouldn't be able to change the status of the thread, so people looking to answer questions would have to ignore any 'solved' labels if they thought that someone else might have found a problem with the earlier solution (which often happens).
If people got the impression that solved threads weren't responded to as often as new threads, then we'd have a proliferation of new threads that should really just be bumps or updates to extant threads.
Also, I don't think that there's an edit history available for thread titles, so it would be slightly harder to moderate the general case where we would allow people to change thread titles to whatever, whenever.

Isn't that out current system?

Haha, good point! I guess that hypothetical situation would only be worse because (presently) occasionally some cool people bump threads instead.
