Lately ive been noticing these stupid Site pal ads that talk!

I understand ads are important to keep the site alive but do they have to make sounds?

What OS/browser combination are you running on? They should have been fixed to not talk automatically after a good number of you pointed it out a few weeks ago.

I just tried every browser... none play on startup.

Ajcates what browser are you using?

Safari 4 OSX.

JUST SAID IT!!! AHHH!! it's driving me nutz.

I really wish osx had a cool sound control panel like windows… then it wouldn't be that big of deal.

They still talk for me on FF/XP

I'm just more careful with my mouse now. :|

^ Wait... I don't think ajcates is talking about on rollover since to do that you would have to scroll to the bottom of the forums.

Yes it does it before I scroll down to the bottom! Just randomly. It's hard to go on the site while at work now with all the talking ads.

If you hit the Mute button does it stop permanently?

This ad will appear for one more week, and I'll make sure all future ads go back to being static gif/jpeg/text. For any future Flash ads, I'll have you guys test them out for quirky behavior before it ever goes live on the site.

The mute button has been persistent for me.

So, hitting Mute doesn't work either?

No, it does. Persistent in that after I clicked it to mute, it has remained muted, even after page refreshes, etc.

I've been having a lot of problems with it lately. It constantly keeps talking without me clicking it and muting doesn't always seem to work, as Sen said it un mutes itself.

No, sen said it stays muted.
