Snapping in MC edit mode

How the heck do I turn this on?

Know what I mean, how when you are editing an MC, it doesn't just autosnap when you are drawing new objects (if you start drawing a line, for example, it won't snap to corners - but if you draw the line, then drag the endpoints, it will snap just fine).

I've searched for this problem so I apologize if it's already been answered.

Umm, what program? I am assuming Flash since you said in MC edit mode, but why is this in drawing and design?

Anywho, if in Flash...

Click on the black Arrow Tool in the tools panel and in the tool properties area on the tool panel will be a magnet facing down. If this magnet is pressed down then that means Snap to Objects is enabled, but if is not pressed down Snap to Objects is not enabled (naturally).

Flash MX, yes.

This is in drawing and design because this is where I thought it should be (you know, drawing and design in flash ;)

If it works better somewhere else (FlashMX) then feel free to move it.

I assure you that Snap to Objects is enabled. Are you telling me that yours works?

Ex.

Draw two lines intersecting eachother. Start drawing a new line and try to get it to snap to the intersection. Doesn't work (doesn't on mine anyway).

Works for me, snaps right to that intersection.

Something may be messing you up... go to the View/ menu in Flash.

In there will be an option for Snap To Pixels, you may need to uncheck that.

Or View/Grid/Snap To Grid may be enabled and that is messing you up?

:+) Thanks LIB. It was Snap to Guides. Once I turned it off everything worked fine.

Wow, and to think that I've had this problem as long as I've used flash :thumb:

Actually, it appears I spoke too soon.

I have the same problem with any number of "show/snap guides/pixels/objects" combinations.

Any ideas? This happens on two seperate systems - so I figured it was a quirk of flash.

Ok, found out what it is.

Flash will not snap when in "Edit in Place" mode. Why is this? Seems like a big drawback. Any solutions? :*(
