Fireworks MX question

I cannot remember how I did this b4 so could someone help me. Okay I have some text. Now what i want to do is have this text shaped like an oval. Not masked but physically shape and fit into an oval. Dang that explanation sucked. If you know what i am talking about pleez help me out. Ill try to think up a better explanation.

make a elipse...

make the text...

select both...

then pull down from text to attach to path....

actually I want the text to like squeeze into a oval. If anyone knows how to do it in PS, ILL or freehand please feel free to let me kknow those are the other apps I have.

Well I cant say I know offhand how you do it in Fireworks, but I know in Freehand you can easily do it using envelope.

Draw your oval.
Select it
Copy it
Create your Text
Select it
Modify > Envelope > Paste as Envelope
