make a square
grey square
make a new layer
make a dark gray dot in the middle
go to layer blending options, select inner shadow
go from there, tweaking
make it a pattern
or tile it as a background

make a new image lets say 10px x 10px. Zoom in like 1600. Now suing your pencil tool (1px stroke no antialias dark grey) Now make a box shape (pixel x pixel) 5 pixels wide 5 pixels high, right in the middle of the zoomed in palette. Now make a new layer (still zoomed in) and make a white square at the bottom right of your dark grey square using the pencil technique. Now cntrl+e to merge down your white square layer to your dark grey one. DO a cntrl+a to select the entire canvas. Go to edit>>define pattern. Name it accordingly. Now you can use this pattern anywhere you like just go to. edit>>fill and select this pattern. Play with the layer blends to acheive better results. Let me know if you need a better explanation.

that indented look is just an illusion. If you do it as I stated in my other post it will look just like that. Just add a white patch will achieve that

If they are supposed to be bumps the light should come from the upper left hand side as that is generally how the eye percieves light. Right now you have sort of an inset thing going on.
I hope that helps at least even a little bit.

Here is one I did with my technique I made my squares a lil bigger so you could see the texture.

the trick is to play with the layer opacity and blend mode. Plus you may want to make yours smaller
