Hi I just wanted to ask what dould be the best way to start off learning photoshop 7.. I mean I have checked out the huge list but most of them just teach you specific techniques in order to obtain popular effects.. I would really like to build my knowledge from the ground up..

PS: I have good experience of using fireworks and corel photopaint

Thanks

Well, just play around with stuff. the first few weeks i started in photoshop, i was filter crazy. then i learned that they are good only in certan spots. tutorials can help, theres tons of them out there, and one of the most important things is getting used to the layout. if you need any help with something, just ask. ;)

and btw baggio, I started out searching on google for various tutorials :)

I have been through most of the sites on that mega list :)

Just memorize the ways of doing those things, and learn how to combine them :)

stay aware on everything that goes on D&D forum - play with it, learn the keyboard shortcuts - ask for advice play with it, don't overuse filters, play with it. You probably understood that -- PLAY with it.

I agree with Baggio, see, all these tuts are popular text effects that I really don't need now. I'm trying to make an interface, but don't know where to start, and how to accomplish it! I'd rather have an interface onwhich to put those cool text effects, not just a big white picture of a crazy text effect.... Any resources, or any help plz?

Well, to create interfaces, you should really learn the basics of a program, doing the little tutorials on this site and other sites mentioned and then draw your concept down, then by using the skills you have learnt , develop your interface. To help you along here is a link to some interfaces .

:: use the interfaces there as help, not as something to work off.

really man there is no other way than to experiment. The sites I listed will lead you to the water but it cannot make you drink. You from there have to explore your own creativity. t almost sounds like you want a button that does it all. You must learn thru trial and error also experiment. You have been given enough tools thus far.
