I can't agree with you. 1$ budget just means that employer doesn't want to show real budget of the project in public or he is not sure in the right fee and you should discuss it with him personally. So don't don't be insulted )

I'm also a freelancer. I have not heard of this site since I have been using www.odesk.com (http://www.odesk.com) eversince. I will check this out. One question though...do employers have a good reputation when it comes to payment?

Sites like that cater to companies who don't value this field. They're serviced by inexperienced "designers" who perpetuate poor work.

Don't support this kind of site, even if you are an underage kid who gets off on downloading expensive software and calling yourself a designer.

If they don't want to show their budget they should put that, but I guarantee no serious designer would look at them.

Unless you contact me directly i'm not going near you without a proper budget.

end of story.

Maybe, you are right. But anyway I've already found my fourth freelance job there and I just decided to share this link with other freelancers. Also I like simple and userfreindly design of this freelance site.

I agree with everyone here criticizing freelancerbay. Sites like this promote inexperienced freelancers and exploiting contactors. Most freelancers should study more or join a company before they start working as freelancers. This increases the reputation of freelancers and flash overall.

Plus, jenkravt, I get the feeling you designed freelancerbay or work for them.
You sound like a publicist and not like a freelancer.

try school.

or a book. Im sick of seeing people that can do web design, and when I ask them how they learned "oh i just tinkered with it until i figured it out..." yah...

no.... read a book get a class... start that way don't "tinker around" with peoples websites. That just screws them over and makes all of us look bad.;P
