unh?
you mean your Kirupaforum avatar? or phpBB Board ?

you'd rather go to a phpBB forum (I mean a forum ABOUT phpBB) cause this forum is powered by vBulletin, not phpBB...

It's been a while since I have used phpBB (I run vBulletin now) but go to the admin panel and try looking up a user(yourself) and then just use html and what not to format all your stuff.

I'm not sure if that will work though.. :/

lol, yeah I used phpbb some time ago too :) Don't have a forum anymore...

I remember trying to install the cutom title mod from phpbb.com, I spent 45 minutes on it, and it didn't work! :P

I must've done somthing wrong :)

yea they got some really cool styles now, all you have to do is edit or create a new image with the same name which is called from the php script. i like vbulliten a lot better but phpBB is free :)

I like both PHPBB and OpenBB; Since I'm lazy, I use PHPBB (easier to skin), but OpenBB is more customizable.

I pick vBulletin over them all. They provide a bit more support here and there, phpBB didn't answer any of my questions.:(

i am having a horrible time gaining access to the FTP for PHPBB, namely, where the hell is it??

I just want to change the main logo in the upper left hand corner, but i need to know where to find the templates folder? Any people with PHPBB experience ready to help??

the templates folder should be inside the forum folder, or whatever you named it.

i'm a bit confused when u say log into ftp for phpbb. phpbb should be located on your webserver, to whatever folder to uploaded it to

yeah, well the problem is that i did not name the folder, or set up the webserver, and the person that did has no clue as to help me...

i know it should be pretty easy, but i've had no luck at all...

thanks though...

wow, rough break man. you might actually be able to log into the admin control panel and fix all this stuff, not sure though.

i.e. http://yoursite.com/forums/admin

i know i can change things in the admin control panel, and point them to a directory of my choosing, but i have no idea where the original directories are, so i would have no files to move to the new directory..

it really is quite frustrating..

when i log onto the boards, i change the URL from HTTP to FTP, thinking that it can give me access through the browser, but i get an error message saying no such directory..

but again, thanks for the help...

ahh i see, well your welcome, sry i couldnt have been more help.

a good resource is the phpbb help forums, only problem is your questions seems to get lost in about 15 minutes.

never know someone else probably had this problem as well

ive checked that place, like i said, they tell you everything, on the assumption that you already know where the templates folder is..

ive tried searching their forums, and there is so much crap there, ive had no luck..

right now im searching around something called phpMyAdmin 2.4.0 but i still cant make heads or tails of it...

hmm phpMyAdmin is actually pretty straight foward. you have to log in to your site ftp(which to my knowledge u can't) and upload it. then go to the url of where you uploaded it to and start configuring

see the problem is, the site FTP, and the forums for the site appear to be on two different servers..

there are no folders on the site FTP that lead to where the forums are hosted, though by looking at the URL, it would seem that it should be that way...
