this thread can serve as a sounding board for anyone who feels the urge to spam. all misfits of order and regimen can find a safe harbor within the pages of this thread. anything goes as long as it fits within the kirupa rules, except for the hijacking sign.

so on a lighter note, my chikens were quite funny this morning. i was feeding them bits of moistened bagel from off my deck and one of the bagel bits fell on the top of one of them, and she was tryign to pluck it off, but she couldnt so she wound up spinning in circles like a dog chasing its tail.

furthermore, im not too fond of iceberg lettuce. it has the nutritional content of cardboard, and honestly, it just doesnt taste that good. my dad likes that iceberg lettuce in a bag with the shredded carrots and cabbage, but i am hardcore into the 'exotic' greens. give me a fresh head of chickory with some fresh garlic and extra virgin olive oil and a lemon and ill be happy as a pig in poopey. or that mesculin salad, that is quite good as well.

on a happier note: I had a flawless driving lesson today - which pleased me a great deal.. my test is on tuesday! Apparently only 40% of applicants pass first time.. :)

Why do red people hate the anti-red signs?
Why do white people hate the anti-white signs?
Why do Hindus hate the anti-hindu signs?

Same reason Asphalt hates the anti-hijacking sign.

CAUSE HE HIJACKS.

I LOVE GOD. I AM GETTING QUITE SICK OF ATHEISM.

i am getting sick of the attitude that because i have faith that makes me weak, or unedumacated, or gullible. i am sick of people telling me i am wrong. i am sick of people judging me. ya know what? you dont believe in God? i dont care. its not my job to try and save your rear ends. but stay out of my face and let me believe what i want.

furthermore, i think it's c0cky, self-centered and narrowminded to write off God because you cant see Him. God isnt invisible, and there are signs everywhere, everyday, to everyone. its you who choses to ignore the obvious becuase human flaw is to think that we are God. (i am speaking of the universal you, this isnt directed to anyone specifically)

scientific proof can kiss it. years ago there was scientific proof about this and that, people laughed at louis pasteur when he proposed the existence of germs... you see what im gettign at here.

do i have scientific proof that God exists? yes. i have proof in myself because i know God and i feel Him in everything around me, everything alive. i know God because i talk to Him and he answers. and i don't mean he answers in some vague way that imagination can play upon. i hear Him, i see Him, and i have physical, PHYSICAL, MATERIAL, gifts that God has given me. not that i need anymore proof, but its nice anyhow.

over the years my brain has started to get mushy in spots, but perhaps one of the most pertinent epiphanies i have ever had was when i was about 2 years old. i was in the car with my mom and for some reason or another we were in a discussion about jesus. i think jehovas had come a knockin earlier, so my mother was explaining different religions and such. and she said that some people did not believe that Jesus was the son of God. so at this i was completely aghast, and i was quiet for a moment and thought...
and then this is what i said...
"mommy, do people believe a tree grows and has leaves? "
and she said yes, gina
and then i thought for another moment, and i said
"hmmph, well, i guess that's because they can see it.."

(disclaimer: hijacking - not of planes and other modes of transportation mind you)

very profound...

one thing...it is your job to save those around you, and it also their choice to condemn and inwardly hate you.

meditate on this...the ultimate goal man will ever achieve is love...and just as equally the ultimate failure a man can reach is hate.

i think it was neitsche that said that...

blessings.

We never had much of a problem keeping threads going before you two joined. Phil used to be able to keep threads going and he basically built up random. But then when he moved and didn't post for a long time, and many of the other mods left it seemed like the spam/hijacking took over. But now that phil's back and we have other mods and people who post in random and can have good topics that aren't just totally useless spam (that's not even funny or entertaining to more than maybe 2 or 3 people), i think we can live without the hijacking and spam.

Asphalt, shouldn't the credit go to the script writer?

Gina, I'm also a Christian! and blackpulp raises a good point, and one that is difficult to take sometimes.

I think its important the way you share your faith with people. It is often more affective to let people know you're a Christian and to allow them to come to you with questions, rather then preach to them and ram you're views down their throats - this is most likely to switch them off! You should set an example by the way you live your life, and people will begin to ask questions, least i hope they would.

One of my closest friends recently showed an interest in my faith, and I dont want to scare him off, so am trying to let him ask questions at his own pace... I have to hold back my excitement as to not freak him out!

:)

I think the Brits need to remember that not everyone thinks the same things are nearly as hilarious as they do.

This isn't new. This is the same thing the mods have been trying to curtail for quite a while. And Nali is correct, this is the reason a lot of good people have stopped posting in random (remember EG, Pom, Eyezberg, Montoya, Lost?)...

thanks to a few people who are bored, and adolescent.

cheers thor - I'm not liking this "you two" and "the brits" thing that's going on... there are plenty of other people that are far more guilty of spam than we are. As for blaming us specifically for driving out members.. that's just ridiculous. And anyway we don't spam.

Ranoka

was just joking.

the whole brits and thread hi-jacking thing... yeah I realise, but I dont agree considering I'm a Brit and I dont spam.
I think jokes relevant to the thread are fine, as long as everyone (or atleas most people) can appreciate them...
I agree that thread hi-jacking is going to annoy people that aren't in on it, and hi-jacking that is a convo between 2 people should be kept private...

just a couple of thoughts, although there's probably a thread dedicated to this already...

I was not singleing (sp?) out you at all. I just wanted to remind you.. that which you feel is hilarious, others do not find funny at all. You Brits are famous for this.

If you felt singled out, then I guess there may be a bit of a guilty conscience. I never said it was directly because of you, rather that it was as a result of all the thread hijacking that has been going on for a long time.

So... stop trying to make this a personal affront, and let's go along with what Kirupa is trying to do here.

Okay?

No fault, no blame, no personal attacks, let's just stop hijacking threads, and everything will be fine.
