I FINALLY came up with a layout that I am somewhat happy with.
This project has been difficult for me. I think the hard part is over.
BUT...:sigh: This is one big ***** jpeg. It is 100% Photoshop. I need to find out how to add links and rollovers...
Image Ready??
Please critique the layout also...
Thanks

I agree with the header... and also the buttons should not be rllovered when the text is rollovered but the whole button-rectangle..thing...

Is it possible that the "header" may be seen differently to me?
If you think so, can someone post a screenshot of what you see?
Thanks
I went ahead and posted it...

Yea, The site is built for 1024x768...
I just looked at it 800x600...Looks like hell...:bad:
Anybody know how to make this thing fit right for ANY resolution?

using tables and being wittier than your browser ;)

hmmmm.... Yea, I just read about that...
In my case, I want the image and layout to stay the same..
I guess I should make the dam thing smaller eh?
So, what do you all think about the layout?
[The rollovers are STAYING] lol
Thanks everyone!

Okay, Which is the best route here?
I am thinking that a site like this one should be fun to navigate.
So I am using a different type "theme" for each page.
Good example...
Click the link below and then click the "for sale" link.
If I add a side bar with the same navigation to this page would that not be better?
OR should I stay consistant and have nothing change but the large "content box"

it looks good, but you should stay away from getting rid of the nav at the top, you want to be able to tell ur still on the same site :)
also, think about maybe adjusting it by % instead of pixels to fix the resolution issue

Thanks for the advice !
I want to keep the same links through all pages, just display them differently. [with the same feel]
The reason for this is because some pages will be for big Champion muscled-up show-dogs... Then I will have pages for puppies, so I am STILL stuck...
I also feel that if I keep the same EXACT nav bar it won't be as fun to navigate through...
Bad Idea? :trout:
% eh? elaborate please... This is my first non-Flash site.
How will % help?
lol Flash containers ALWAYS fit...haha
Thanks...

1. I think the navigation up top should be static for every page. It's more professional that way.
2. I'm not really digging the wires, but I really like the rest of the layout (it's MUCH better then the one you had before)
3. also, it's probably not the best idea to do a lot of text in photoshop...the content part should be done with HTML (saves loading time)
4. have you considered using an iframe for the main content area? it could be an option
5. i absolutely detest horizontal scrollbars...i would make the layout at a max width of 760px...then you can use tables to "fill in the rest" kind of. that way your layout will work with 800x600 or 1024x768 (i can explain this further if you need me too)

Thanks.
Yea elaboration on the "iframe"
and tables stuff would be great.
It's like I can graphically do stuff pretty easy, but putting it together for a site is difficult for me.
I want my projects to be different but still proffesional looking.
preciate it!

okay...this is basically how to use tables to fill in most of the page with stuff
this cell will expand to fill in the left side of the screen and will have pic1.jpg as the background
----------insert main content here--------------
this cell will expand to fill in the right side of the screen and will have pic1.jpg as the background
the key for this to work is setting the table width at 100% and the center cell at 760px...then the left and right cells will automatically resize. check out my website...i use this basic idea on it except i have three cells to the left, one in the center, and three on the right. your possiblities are endless. (also notice how my page works with 800x600 and 1024x768)
about the iframes...tables are more browser friendly than iframes...it's prolly just better to stick with tables. i was just offering a suggestion.
hope this helps

Thanks teet.. I will definately try that. Your site looks very cool !
Like I said earlier in this post, I am a rookie when it comes to static pages. I'm sure this will help me out...
Thanks again!
