First, I would like to thank everyone responsible for the forums. First, kirupa.com (whoever he/they is/are in real life), as well as everyone who makes up the forums. :thumb: I'd also like to thank whoever kills those spam threads so quickly. I don't know how you get to them so quick.

One thing I really appreciate about these forums are that there are so many learned people (who keep posting answers before I have a chance to help. [Shakes fist] :fight: ) which is actually great. There is also a steady stream of people with problems or questions, so in all, very many questions get answered each day.

I usually check the forums during my break at work, and I usually have time for a few short questions before I need to get back to work (reluctantly). Some days, I have more time, and those days I often sit around hitting refresh until another question arrives.

Don't worry, I am not leaving kirupa, but,
Are there any more popular AS3 forums out there that need more help?

Then instead of hitting refresh several times, I can try to help out over there a bit.

Also, this is just a suggestion for these forums, in order to keep posts from disappearing to page 2 quickly, would there be any interest in dividing the AS3 into two categories:
* Beginner AS3 Questions/Topics
* Advanced AS3 Questions/Topics

Or perhaps divide them into "Problems/Help" and "General Topics" or something.

Not really necessary. Just throwing an idea out there.

There are a few around, I like kirupa the best but I think actionscript.org is quite active and there is flashkit which I haven't used myself (I think tonypa hangs out there)

More forum categories would be good :)

i think few stupid question will be good, there's a lot of users who just made their first post and asks something that can be easily googled.

Well, the major problem facing most beginners (I know I have been there) is when you really don't know what terms to search for. And the times that they do find a site covering their problems, the site doesn't often explain it very well, and it is hard to understand for a beginner.

I appreciate many of the beginner questions, but I agree, some of them are superfluous and oh too common.

Some are very common, but you can always ignore them, and people will help if they want so it doesn't really worry me :) A beginner section would be good though,

Here's a short list of links:

http://board.flashkit.com/board/
http://www.actionscript.org/forums/
http://gotoandlearnforum.com/
http://www.flexdeveloper.eu/forums/
http://forums.adobe.com/community/flex/flex_general_discussion

These are the ones I visit most often ( + a few more, but those are not in English so I'm not posting them ). As have others already mentioned, googling wouldn't hurt and no matter how "beginner" you are, that does not excuse anyone from using simple human logic and typing "Flash Forum" in the Google searchbox. In my opinion, that has nothing to do with one being a beginner or a pro, it simply has to do with "using your brain". :) Good luck.

PS: It is most likely that you'll find the same people on those forums too and also the same problems and questions ( + exceptions ). What I don't like about this forum is that they don't have a separate forum for Flex and AIR related problems. Funny to see Silverlight and C# discussion but no place for the Flex and AIR related problems.

We were talking about beginner / pros asking questions in our own forum about programming, not about finding other good forums :P

p.s I'm pretty sure Kirupa worked on Silverlight, so that makes sense but yea, more topics!

p.s I'm pretty sure Kirupa worked on Silverlight, so that makes sense but yea, more topics!Yeah, the reason why he has a Silverlight and C# forum is quite obvious. Still, a Flex and an AIR forum wouldn't hurt ( it just feel unfair having Silverlight and C# forums but no Flex and AIR... especially since this whole forum started out as being more "flash oriented" ).
