Well hey!

I am new to the Kirupa forums and I am thoroughly enjoying what I have seen so far! :P
Basically, I havn't been learning AS3 for very long (only about a week or so) however I have managed to create some pretty amazing things (in my opinion) such as Twitter feeds and dynamic news scrollers that can be updated through a browser etc.

My website is http://www.calumscott.com/ , there you can find out news on my latest projects and just random news posts are seem to always be related in a programming sense.

My latest project can be found at http://www.laughing4free.com/ , I programmed the whole website for a friend and it has turned out to be one of the biggest things I have ever programmed.

Notice the two Flash applications on the page, both in AS3, both programmed by me!

Right now I am working on, what I have designated as, Project T-PA. It is basically a project aimed at converting all of Tony Pa's examples from his tile based game tutorials/e-book into working Actionscript 3 code.

So far I have managed to create the first two examples and wouldn't mind other people helping (Click here for the Project T-PA blog) (http://www.calumscott.com/projectt-pa/).

The main point of this thread is to see if anyone else out there would be interested in getting in contact with me to exchange AS3 skills and tips etc (Basically a new friend lol :P). So we can both improve our AS3 skills.

If you have Windows Live Messenger/MSN Messenger, add me at calum.scott@core-zero.com to get in touch!

I look forward to meeting you ^^

I... I shouldn't, but I'll step into this. I guess my game will have to wait, those tutorials were way too awesome to not be converted in a chance like this.

I will be out for the most of the night, I'll drop a message when I arrive.

I'm back. My messenger system is a down right now, I wasn't expecting to use Windows again for a long time. But I'm PMing you my email address.

I also would like to openly ask if your intentions are to create only a tutorial or a framework for tile based games. Because if done right, there's no reason to not use all the classes in a more autonomous way.

The main intention is to simply create an AS3 solution for Tony Pa's tutorials, although you are correct. More can come out of this than expected!

I think it'll be a good hour to mention that I already have a package that creates tiles maps with special behaviors and everything based on xml files.

But let's focus on the tutorial first.
