I posted here since I consider those who frequent this particular forum section my peers. But does Kirupa.com have any intentions of hosting any iPhone development tutorials and a possible iPhone dev forum section?

I think this is one of the best communities out there for flash technology development. I learned the ropes from some of the big names here so I would love to see Kirupa.com be the place for maybe learning the ropes for iPhone dev as well.

FYI, for any flex developers out there, if you haven't tried to do some iPhone dev, I highly recommend it. It's fairly easy aside from getting used to the syntax. Of course you gotta have a mac but you can find an el' cheapo Macbook out there somewhere.

Hi jwopitz,
No, currently there are no plans. The reason is similar to what I've mentioned in the past about covering other technologies. I would rather this site be the best at a few things such as Flash, Silverlight, and WPF as opposed to being stetched too thin and being mediocre at many different things.

The amount of time and effort needed to write about a completely new language and IDE is enormous - even if it is as fun as iPhone development.

:)

I strongly doubt that kirupa.com will house any iPhone development tutorials or forums. It's not that iPhone development isn't cool or interesting to the people here, it's just that it has little to do with the focus of the site. Almost all of the existing tutorials are very closely related to what web designers and web developers do on the job, and forums are created mainly due to the accumulation of tutorials on a subject. iPhone development is perhaps of interest to the target audience of this site, but it's still not within the scope of the focus of the site, you know?

Unless Kirupa has decided to take a new direction with the site recently that I haven't noticed… :cantlook:

I moved your thread to Forum Guidelines/Suggestions since you're supposed to post threads in the forum that is most appropriate for the contents of each thread and not because your target audience reads a certain forum.

Edit: Woah, I didn't realize it would take > 15 minutes to write that post.
