Adobe After Effects

I've finally been able to take a peek at this prog (version 5.5) and I was wondering if anyone on the forums was acquainted with the video soft since it seems you can make great effects (really really really really good looking):

this looks like a great tool, and since I'd look to study in SFX I was wondering if anyone had tips/good tuts/books to read/places to visit

all i know how to do is cut off peices of movie and stuff like that. i knwo you can also export to an swf which is pretty cool
