When a song is labeled as "acoustic" does that mean it will only have guitar + voice?

Acoustic for me, is a music that has only simple sounds with the use of guitars known as acoustic guitars. An acoustic guitar is a guitar that uses only acoustic methods to project the sound produced by its strings. The term is a retronym, coined after the advent of electric guitars, which depend on electronic amplification to make their sound audible ( to be heard ) . :stare:

Acoustic is that the instrument is the sound source - ie electric guitar cannot be heard without amplification and speakers. An acoustic guitar can be heard without any other equipment. same with synth vs pianoforte or cello vs electric cello.

Acoustic versions of songs seem to have a lot of followers, because they are more soothing because they only use the guitar or the piano.

No electronic instruments. This is one of my favorites: http://www.mtv.com/videos/misc/342636/come-as-you-are-live.jhtml#id=1611983
Far from boring, but then that depends on the listening ear.
