New DVD releases this Tuesday

Some new releases coming this Tuesday. Most notable is Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Standard Edition - the first release of the 2nd instalment of the lord of the rings trilogy. This will be your normal 2 disc release and should be in my hands tuesday.

Also, we're finally seeing Season 3 of the Simpsons. Seems like big gap since the release of season 2 (though I still havent gotten through all those episodes and commentaries ;)). A Best Buy flier (here at lease) is promoting $10 off any of the Family Guy, Futurama or King of the Hill DVD seasons when buying Simpsons season 3 - may be something to take advantage of if you dont already have seasons 1 or 2 of Family guy or season 1 of futurama (...or king of the hill).

And if that wasnt enough, the coveted From Justin to Kelly (Special Edition) is also coming out this tuesday. I suggest camping out in front of the stores monday because you know this one will be flying off the shelves.

Don't get the first dvd of lotr. At least wait for the special edition that'll come out around December when everybody's hyped up for the 3rd one. Or do like me and wait 10 years for the 12 disc collector's edition that's sure to come up.

what do you mean, the cheesy *** ripped divx versions off of the internet? On half of them the sound isn't even sync'd with the video

I, however, am still getting the first edition of the LOTR too. I'll get both. The first holds me over until the special edition :)

Also, there will be limited releases of the first two movies out in theaters (extended versions) right before the release of return of the king. You know, to "freshen [our] memories" :beam:

Well, I have the regular 2-disc set of LOTR 1, and I don't think I've seen one single minute of the *amazing* bonuses it offers... As a matter of fact, so far, I've not seen many discs with interesting bonus. American Beauty, Alien, Matrix, T2 and Fight Club. Maybe Cube too :)

You also forgot to mention that Stitch the Movie is coming out on Disney DVD. I'm sooooo looking forward to Finding Nemo! :)

Matrix Reloaded came out today. Got it at bestbuy for $15 with a bonus DVD (only a few reloaded dvds had the bonus dvd packaged with it - might be a limited time thing).

Not too terribly shabby. 2 discs. Main disc with the movie, 2nd disc with extras - mostly just making ofs. One thing it doesnt have which has me bummed is a commentary track. I guess that can be due to the fact that it came out so quickly. Im sure later on they'll release the trilogy with all that good stuff on it.

... I also got Fargo (Im a coen bros fan) and that DID have a commentary track, but only by the director of photography. He didnt have much to say :sigh:

A lot of great releases next month though.

yah, I just picked up the matrix DVD as well yesterday only I got it at Futureshop so i didnt get the "extra special one of a kind out of this world" bonus disk (can you tell I'm a little jellous?) I also picked up a DVD called "BEEF" it's all about the "beef" in the hip hop / rap industry. It shows the very begining of it and how it transpired with the originals like KRS-ONE and Bizzy B and such but then get's into it where it strated to become violent and how it's getting out of hand. It's great, a very high end production, A lot of money went into the DVD it's very professional.

Anyway - I can't wait for the 21st when I can pick up Indiana Jones Collecters Edition on DVD!!!

I got that matrix reloaded, lion king, boondock saints and the scarface anniv ed... I'm happy with all but I would love a commentary on matrix. Like you said sen, I'm sure a trilogy c-note pack will come out w/ all the goods so I'm not to worried at the time. :P
