An ISO file is, simply said, the content of a cd. You can burn it onto a disc. It says there by the way:

To install Red Hat Linux 9, you will need to download the three ISO images of the installation CD-ROMs, even if you are planning to install only using your hard drive. Using a CD-ROM burner, you can also transfer each of these ISO images to a blank CD-R.
Oh, and if you're going to install Linux after all, I suggest you go for SuSE Linux. It has great documentation, which I think you'll need.

Ok.

I will download the 3 files.
then I burn all of the 3 files witch are more than 700 mb on a blank CD. then I put the CD in and restart my pc. the linux installation will run from the cd.

Is that correct ?

You should burn one file on once disc, so you'll need 3 discs. By the way, don't just burn them on, a burning program should read this and then burn the contents of it on the cd.
