I'm starting a new project and have a few classes i've wrote and want to reuse. I want to set them up with packages but tried before and failed.

Can anyone help me set these up, i'm feeling really stupid not being able to do it but i'm not having any lucky.

At the moment, I've made a folder,

C:/flash/mbl

In there, I have all my classes that I want to reuse.

If any one has a bit of time to explain, what do I do next? I'm using Flash CS3, would also be useful to know how to do the same in Flex Builder 3.

Thanks for anyone that helps me with this.

Hi Alpha eX,

Mook's excellent Essential ActionScript 3 has a great introduction to packages and how to use them in AS3 (http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=gUHX2fcLKxYC&dq=essential+actionscript+3&printsec=frontcover&source=bn&hl=en&ei=HZfgScv9C9XKjAfktsTUDQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4#PPA9,M1) and would probably be well worth a read.

Jonny.

Thanks for the suggestion Jonny but I don't really want to read a full book, I just need to know how to link packages in CS3, i'm sure it's very simple with just a few steps.

Can anyone quickly explain it to me please?

Use the link. JonnyR didn't just recommend a book; the link goes to the page in the book that explains the answer to your question.

Oh i'm really sorry, my montor didn't show that up as a link because the colors are so similar! Thanks again Jonny, sorry for not seeing that first time, I have trouble with colors!

Thanks Sen' for pointing that out, I would have missed it.

Links on these forums have always been pretty difficult to spot if the context around the link doesn't hint that a link might be hanging around. (at least with the forum styles that I've used)

^ I think poor style design is the problem. Zelda isn't great for links, but the text is different enough to usually tell that there is one. Other styles I've seen have the exact same color for content text and links :trout:
