Well, I was thinking, since everyone uses the [edit] tags so much, why not make them a vB like the [<b></b>sarcasm] tags?
Just a thought.

it does say 'edited by [user] on [time]' under your post when you edit it.. is that not enough? :)

if you edit it within the same minute then it doesnt say anything. same with if you are a mod.

it may be possible for there to be a pop up option to add an explaination for the edit .... that would be more efficient for those who feel so compelled
"last edited by........."

..that's what you meant, right

This makes no sense. At the bottom of your post, it says "Last edited by ..." when a post has been edited. Why use a tag ?

the mods do it to show that they have edited their own post, or to show that they have edited someone else's post...
other than that, it is really unecessary...
IMO...
but feel free to use whatever tags you wish... some of them actually work!

well it does make plenty of sense for non-admin types if you think about what he was really saying:
a lot of ppl like to explain what was the reason for their own post edit .... which seems to hold a bit more validity than just *that an edit has taken place*.
a quick n' easy set of tags that would appear at the click of a button could set off an unique note space of sorts, like the quote tags, for the reason to be spelled out and distinguishable from the rest of the text.
not a big deal I'm sure...but not a necessarily bad idea either
