I was just curious kirupa. Why is there like, over 500 people on the forum that has 0 post count and yet no one bothers to take them out? Usually many forums have automatic thing where if you have 0 post count for more than a week, it automatically removes you. I'm just curious.

:stunned:

Max - one of the many good things about this forum is that it is based on inclusion not exclusion :)

I remmeber when I first found this site (through Spoono) I signed up for a name and didn't post until like 3 months later... so don't delete those names!

Plus, database storage is to ridiculously huge typically, usually it doesn't matter too much. I haven't noticed any slow loading queries.

Almost everybody does, they have a question, they find this forum, want to ask the question, but can't because they aren't registered, so they register and ask their question. There are a lot of users that have 2 - 5 posts from that thread they posted. And sometimes, after a long while, they return and ask another question.

there are many forums that have tons of zero posters ... and for a long time too

This was brought up a while back and probably not a bad idea,
...maybe after about 6 months (of 0 visits) an email could be auto-generated to offer them to "opt in" or be deleted (?)

they really don't take up any space to speak of, it is just the unavailability of names that would be an issue

I think we have a few guys here who post enough to make up for the 500 zero posters ;)

I think 6 month's is a good term, I mean, they prolly wouldnt remember if they registered anyway!

I just figured I will leave them. I am not sure why they signed up, but if they did, they must have had a reason. As long as they are NOT active, the server could care less about their existence or non-existence.

I think someone shouldnt be deleted just because they dont post, i dont post often, but I read almost everything on the forum, like 85% worth. They might do the same, but not post... at all
