How to increase website traffic?

Hey,
I have a website and I was looking at other websites and I noticed that all the big websites were part of a network. It was called Rydium network or something. I was wondering if I sign up and get accepted will they bring traffic to my website? How can they bring traffic to websites? Thanks and please explain.

Well.

2. Joining big networks isn't the most popular idea.

3. Make something attractive and useful + promotion = traffic

4. To be accepted into big networks, you have to have lots of traffic in the first place.

5. The 'goal' of your site must be important in order to attract, many websites doesn't really have a goal, ex. mine.

6. Don't expect a lot of traffic suddenly come. Like most websites, it may take months or even years to get popular.

Also, Ask around, people might just want to exchange links with you. This will get your web site shown to numerous amounts of people :)

yup - i'm not sure but i think search engines such as google pop your site to the top if it's referred by many sites (ie you link and are linked every where) make sure you do advertise your webpage wherever you go, for instance i have not yet a full website but half my traffic comes from people hitting this button: http://www.kirupaforum.com/forums/images/home_website.gif

Coppertop, read up on my PM offer. Usually CC's sell really cheap, so go for it. But I know for one, my host doesnt host cc's for some reason, not that I was planning to buy it.
