I'm making a bit of a departure from my previous musical style and trying to get back to more live instrumentation and singing. I recorded this today.

Broken Man (http://www.eighty-seven.net/brokenman.mp3)

This track features just guitar and vocals, and it's all me baby. The melodies are a bit sketchy and I go in and out of tune a bit, but this is a rough version, to be improved upon later.

I hope you like it. Let me know what you think.

Sounds good. What did you record that with?

Thanks.

That's just me, an Epiphone Les Paul, a Line 6 Spider amp, and my iMac with GarageBand, with everything recorded using the built in iSight mic.

I like the guitar but the vocals aren't up my alley.

nice job on the recording, did you use a mic for the vocals?

That does not sound at all like you Paddy :) Nice work tho. can't knock it. Tighten up the overdubbing a little and it will be 'getting there', it's a bit Chad Kroeger at the moment.

Aww, that's harsh, Ray. :hurt: It's not that bad, is it?

Got a whole load of mics and such sitting out in my practice room at the minute, so when I can be bothered to lug the computer out there I'll hopefully be able to get something a bit cleaner. Playing the song right the whole way through probably wouldn't go amiss either.

Cheers guys.

Wasn't meant to be harsh Paddy, you know the form of my banter (tho a CK comparison is a boot when I think about it) ;)

Defo not bad either, just needs the dubbing tightened up, too much of a rasp on your voice. Did you record the vocal as a separate track?
