Well I just got this yesterday and I have to say it blew away my expectations.

The graphics are amazing, the controls are perfect as always and the game is very, very fun.

My only complaint is that I find it a bit slow but maybe thats just me being used to playing the old 2D version on XBL, and the damn intro music is horrible and makes me want to cry and the lack of my favorite character DeeJay :hurt: other than that the game is fantastic.

I just cant wait till I play this online and see how well the online component of this game performs, hopefully its as good as the SF2THD version on XBL.

I think the moves menu is too damn small.....I had to strain to see it. The controls are taking me some getting used to. And I am not understanding the whole ultra combo thing. But I will stick with it, because I love the game :D

Graphics are amazing tho.

The 360 controller is killing me. I try to do an Ultra with, say for example, Ken (QCF QCF Px3).. and roughly 50% of the time he'll just do a shoryuken instead of the Sinryuken and it leaves me wide open. Kind of frustrating, thinking about getting an arcade stick.. I dunno :suppose_maybe:

But overall, this game is hella fun. It's a bit different from SF3: Third Strike which is what I HAD been playing on PS2, so trying to get out of the "parry-ing" rhythm is frustrating.

Anyways, my xbox live account is Squabbler if you guys want to play. I'm up for a good time even if you just constantly kick my *** because it's all about practice. ;)

Oh, and I really like the Trial room under Challenges.

grimdeath

Yeah the trial room is awesome it teaches you some really neat combos.

Red the focus attacks and ex moves are what you should use now instead of parrys and I highly suggest anyone playing this on the X360 to use the analog stick its so much easier to pulloff the moves it just takes a bit of practice.

DDD how big is your TV? I didnt notice that since my HDTV is quite big, 65" big

Ultra combos are awesome, basically the way these work is your revenge meter charges up based on how many times you get hit, hence the name revenge and if you pull it off basically its always the same as the super combo but the only difference is you have to use 3 punch buttons or 3 kicks in order for it to work, where a super combo all you need is a single button.

Thats the difference of the super and ultra combos, again the focus attack can let you absorb one hit and still pulloff the focus attack but if you get hit 2 times while trying to perform it it will cancel the focus attack.

The Ex attack (when the character is glowing yellow) makes you invincible for like 2 seconds while perfoming whatever move it is your doing, these come in handy since they make you invulnerable even to super combos and ultra combos in some cases.

Focus attacks are done by pressing both medium punch and kick buttons at the same time, EX attacks can be done as long as you have one or more bars of your super bar, these only consume one bar and must be executed the same way as a super combo.

So theres a few basic pointers for you guys out there new to the game or just old veterans trying to figure out how the new system works.

I just love this game it brings so many new things to the game that make it interesting and refreshing not like it needs it since SF is my favorite fighting game.

Add me to your friends lsit if you wanna tangle online gr1md3ath see you online :thumb:

hahaha, not a button presser, but I like it simple. That is why Blanka was my guy (and yes I can kick serious arse with him) he was simple to do. But they made it a bit more complex this time around. And Paul was my guy in Tekken, I got to the point where I could beat people without throwing a punch.

Thank you grim for that complete *** beating last night. The first fight was pretty stable, went 4 rounds and all but one was close. However, when I switched to Ken, I had no chance. Then it got even worse when you switched to Guile. I'm still in shock that you 'Perfect' me 2 rounds in a row. But I learned that I gotta stay out of the corner when you are Guile, because it's game over otherwise.

Still a lot of fun even if I hit you only a handful of times in a few rounds. I don't really care if I win or lose when playing someone that I 'know'. By the way, you mentioned that you had a few more players to choose from, just curious, who were they?

Oh and one more thing, with Abel, there's a certain combo string you commonly use which I noticed. However, the problem is on the lead in. It has like an high attack then 2 low then another over the top hit. THAT over the top hit (he kind of does like a backhand spin)-- that is nearly impossible to block. I tried high and low blocks and could NEVER block it..

O well, still fun times. We should play again!

Thanks for playing man I'll go easy on you next time and not use abel or guile  guile is my main character so not to brag but I'm pretty decent with him, abel is just another character I'm trying to master but that combo you say is unblockable can be blocked you just gotta try blocking high then low etc I've had people hand my @** to me while using able so hes not unstoppable.

I still had to use cammy, gouken and akuma but I really can use any character I just stay away from shoto fighters since theyre predictable and almost everyone uses them and the fight gets very booring or tunrs into a fireball shoryuken contest.

Looking forward to play with you again you just have to practice a bit more and start using EX moves alot more you barely used any at all and those can save you.

See you online and thanks for playing :beam:

Yeah, that combo though is like an optical illusion. That over swing is actually a HIGH strike even though he's rolling on the ground and it catches me almost every time since the first two strikes are low.

I agree with you on the number of people that use Ken/Ryu. It's like 4/5 fights online, you're going against either or. I always used Ken in SF2, as well as Third Strike. But for some reason I started leaning heavily towards Sagat in SF4. I'm also trying to learn to use Akuma effectively. He's hard to master since his stamina is complete crap. Two mistakes and the round is over for you.

I tend to go to the training section and try new combos and what not but it never seems to help me because in a live fight, you never know for sure if your going to connect the initial hit or not. Therefore I tend to do less hit combos on a live fight VS in training. Although, I will say I love poking with short and medium jabs/kicks and pissing people off with that.

But yeah, for sure, can't wait to play again. Also, I don't know if you had a mic or not but I couldn't find mine so yeah... anyways, see ya out there! :blah:

Yes I do have a mic I just didn't think you wanted to hear me talk to myself

That's why playing online is fun you always learn new things combos counters and what not I enjoy fighting against people that whoop my @** because it forces me to rethink and look for alternatives on how to counter their attacks.

I just  this game

Sorry, I have to rant about this...

:anger:

The theme song to this game is terrible. It sounds like a ****ing Japanese Backstreet Boys band. It's so bad... I just don't understand why they didn't use, for example, the commercial song (Sick Puppies - Street Fighter [War]). The song was literally created FOR the game.. :look:

But hey, at least I can connect a portable HDD and listen to music off that via Dashboard. By the way, we need more kirupians playing. I know some of you have this game.

Yeah that's why I have the language set to Japanese doesn't make it better just more tolerable  but nothing can beat the music from MVSC2 I wanna take you for a ride JESUS F*&^* Christ WTF were they thinking.

I personally think they should have used the song that plays after the intro where ryu and ken are fighting that it goes into a remix of one of the old songs check min 2:41 of this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ5WUyqHu2U)video

It was a pretty brutal beatdown...:pac: especially the last 2 fights. Nonetheless it was still fun and I don't really care. Plus, like you said, fighting someone that just constantly beats the crap out of you forces you to learn different ways of playing.

I'm assuming your talking about DJ from SF3:TS? He was awesome, that stupid ball pissed me off so much! :anger:

Have this for ps3, I was playing it pretty fullon when i first got the game, haven't played it for a while now.

Grim I'd still take you on if you can get on the ps3 version, regards to overused players it's usually the original cast that's overplayed but that shouldn't stop you from picking the player your good with, I usually pick Ken if not then Ryu and fall back on either sagat, not a big fan of the new players style.

You know what's funny, when I bought the game on 360, I didn't have the internet hooked up at first. I played through it and beat Seth and thought, "man that wasn't too bad"... Then I go to get on xbox live and it says there is an update (first day it was released)... So I updated and come to find out, part of the update actually made Seth HARDER. Now it seems next to impossible to beat him. :anger:

But, Anogar, playing the arcade mode to me is a complete joke. The CPU just constantly counters EVERYTHING you do. And they never make a mistake.

--

Grim, sorry about bouncing the other night, they were yelling at me to come play a drinking game (as if I didn't have enough already right?).. But hey man, it was still fun, just watch those jumps with Akuma. See ya out there!

...Maybe I should try and play Kirupa, because Grim destroys me too. :suppose_maybe:

Okay okay FINE! Guys, I did manage to beat him 3 rounds in a row and win a match Saturday night, if that gives you guys some hope. :lol:What I shouldn't tell you, is that those three rounds are the only three I've won against him. :zipper:

I did notice though, from the first time I played compared to this past time, I already am a bit more 'controlled' and overall better. I'm starting to get pretty decent at the focus blocks. I just love it when someone spams fireballs with Ryu and I focus block all way to his face from the far end of the screen and throw him.

@Grim: I did notice that, because you played as Gouken when I was Ken that one match, and I missed my stupid Ultra 3 times in a row when you were floating in the skies and instead just did a Shoryuken and was left wide open. (thank you 360 D-pad).. Oh and by the way, you're smart with throws, and it makes me angry. :P

A: Due to the high demand for our products, we are not accepting pre-orders for products on our store site. We are currently fulfilling orders on a first-come, first-served basis.
