photoshop: direct selection tool

Have any of you ever had the problem where you can't use the direct selection tool? I try clicking on a point, and nothing happens. Its worked before, but sometimes it just doesn't work and just moves the whole image instead of just the point. Anyone know whats wrong? thanks

not sure I follow what you are doing...sometimes it helps to zoom in you may not actually be selecting the point

Are you only allowed moving certain point? because i have already zoomed in, and what is happening is when i click on the point, instead of it moving just the point, it moves the whole image. :-\

I think you were using the wrong arrow.
