So what do all you prefer? I'm using iTunes but miss the hot keys from winamp. I think WMP is bloated and takes up too much resources for what it does.

Windows Media Player (with the mega codec pack installed of course). It plays everything (I mean everything, even flv's which I found funny) and it always finds my music names. It can also convert any file for playing on a device. I wish there was a simple way to make it support the iPod touch.
- iTunes is very bloated and the updates are a true pain it also can't convert video, even if it can play it which makes no sense.
- winamp is okay, but nothing interesting about it.

VLC :), I don't particularly care if it finds the names of my music or anything like that, just needs to play what I tell it to play, and do it quick.

i have over 17 thousand songs
WMP - would only show 5000 songs, until I pressed the scroll bar and then another 5000 would show and so forthe - so thats out (Not to mention the cheap and tacky visualisations).
Winamp - I love the visualisations, the ability to customise it - though, I think the user interface is too cluttered and hard to browse my selection
iTunes - i dont like the apple approach to this program at all. A huge lack of customisability (if that's a word :)), very few visualisation options, you 'need' it to get songs on or from your ipod - or so the fallaciously lead you to believe. the growing amount of garbage they put into it (genious, coverflow, podcasts, ringtones etc - what next, games?). Additionally Im yet to see apple provide a good quality, fast video player - yet more bs, either make good movie player or none at all. I do however like the clean, uncluttered interface it has

Informative and to the point! Winamp is ok, just ok i guess. I prefer iTunes right now. My biggest gripe with iTunes is just that I can't use key combos to control it when it's minimized. I don't mind the interface too much having to use it for my iphone, etc. I do wish I could skin it in something other than bland greenish gray. Get's kinda boring. It took me a long time to relinquish control to iTunes, but over all it seems to do a pretty dang good job of managing my music - i currently have 10k songs, so not as many as you yet ;-)

I use iTunes cause I have to and now I'm kind of used to it but I've found it to be ridiculously buggy and slow on my computer.

Oh snap well your an exception, also try to install that codec pack it adds some really random support for some weird stuff, don't know it may work, although not entirely sure what "SAP" announcements are.

I've been a Windows Media Player user for a long time, but I use iTunes more since I got my iPod. Both are pretty efficient players but I like iTunes better.

I have always preferred winamp because lots of plugins available like WinLyrics and all.Apart from that,I am used to it.
But my buddies and colleagues say i-Tunes is better.Dont know why.
As for WMP....Geez...NO COMMENTS !!!
