I don't really use filters... The only thing I tend to use is the Blur tool to soften the edges of the colours in my pics. :)

I have a confession - I've never used a 3D program in my life.
A while ago I wanted to make a 3D looking jigsaw as part of a concept design... I drew it all by hand. :sure:
I don't use any plugins and stuff for Photoshop... I suppose you could say that I'm a purist - I like to make each effect myself, otherwise I don't do it. If I want to show light falling on something, I'll draw the highlights and shadows by hand rather than apply a filter.
Guess it's just me. :)

Man kit!!! You are using like 1/100th of the power of ps. Recently I have started using xenofex for a project I am working on and also a few others from flaming pear. Most of the time alot of filters will make your image look pretty cheesey but in moderation is cool.

I know, I know. :)
I suppose it's just that the kind of things I use PS for don't involve filters or 3D. I mostly draw Manga type stuff, and that just uses cel shading techniques. No filters or anything involved there... But the effect I get with PS is better than if I coloured straight in Illustrator.
A lot of you guys are all into the whole 3D type thing, which is great. :) My style is just more simple, that's all. :)

I just love using the gradient overlay. Here's a little exp of mine, which uses it to some extent.

Im quite fond of Render>Clouds, and Render>Difference Clouds.. Most of my Photo manipulations that are created from scratch begin with these filters...
