i just read unflux' thread when my mum called me to come into the garden... monsterspider alert! ;)


its called a zebra spider and is about 3 inches (if im right, 1 inch is about 3 cm?) long (w/ legs). the photos were hard to take because the spider built its net upside down so i had to lie down on the lawn...

pictures were taken with a canon powershot g5, they have a high resolution (you see every single hair) and filesize ( about 1,5 megs)

scottish terriers? in austria they are called zebra/wasp spider (translated of course :+) )

This probably has something to do with a boy called Richard Gunning (this moment is imprinted indelibly on my memory) who dropped a spider down the front of my dress when I was in junior school...
