Is there a free software I can use to mix music for my website? (e.g. remove the singer's voice)

I use acid pro to mix some little musical peices, but I have yet to find something which would let me strip a track from a cd or mp3 format.

Yes there is.
I use "freeRIP" from www.download.com
Just type it in the search and it will show you the link.
I think this is better than CDEX, because when I compared their file sizes (MP3) I got a significantly smaller file from freeRip. (2.8 megs in freeRip compared to 3.5 megs in CDEX)
