well, i've been trying to learn more flash and actually CREATE/REDESIGN my own site but I have NO inspiration. I have a lot of time now before school starts, and I just know I'll get all these great ideas when I'm busy as hell with school.

So how do you guys sit your arse down and actually do some good work? :rock:

Go outside and look at nature and what not. Watch how things move and study the natural movements so you can apply them to your site. That's where I get my biggest inspiration at least.

I don't have 'nature' where I work or where I live. We have this thing called traffic and people.

Which are also good to study.. just study the flow of nature/life. Seriously... my designs are always inspired by stuff like that.

I think there's a lot of design elements that are starting to become generic... for example, EVERYONE and their grandmother is trying to copy 2advanced. NOT the entire site, like some have blatantly done, but they try to make their sites look technical and futuristic and crap...

What I would recommend is to take a look at objects around you and see if you can apply some of the design elements to your website. Especially for someone creative like you, your site shouldn't look like something someone else could have come up with.

And my favorite example of this is this site... I love it - it's blatantly out of sinc with other flash portfolios out there: http://www.innerblitz.com/version1/

I'd say do ur own thingy and control the popup count, i wanted all the colors on my website, so if u take a look at it u ll notice differnt color scheme on different pages, but as far as my flash site is concerned i m drawing out plans on the paper, a long while before i even start that, but yea may b u shud also do some paperwork and do ur own thing instead of taking inspiration from 2advanced and other gurus, afterall it's ur own personal website. =)
