View Full Version : Question

Hopefully I can explain this clearly enough to get some sort of response. If I had a site to reference, I would, but I can't think of any off the top of my head. And I don't have the time to look for one. And I hope I'm posting in the right spot. Here goes...

I've seen a lot of sites (and yet an example escapes me) with Flash in them that have this gradual decreasing speed action in them. For instance, a symbol (a word for instance) will come across the screen after being triggered by some action. But instead of coming to a direct, abrupt halt, it slows down into place. So my question is, how is this done? Is it ActionScripting? Some feature in Flash MX (I'm still stuck on 5)?

Any help and/or pointing to the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Run a search on kirupa.com or the forum on "easing" (2 tutorials at kirupa.com) , there is an equation to that sort of motion :)

No problem, the tutorials are kirupa.com may not be exactlywhat you are looking for, but the equation is the same either way, so all you would need to do is implement it how you need it :) (the tutorials are there to teach the method overall)
