Hi Kirupa.Com,

Given the recent announcements by Google this may be an entirely moot point, but I've been working on a methodology to make Flash more search engine friendly and after a few years of tweaks and bumps, we're ready to have this thing beta tested.

This technology will be the centerpiece of a new company and we want to offer beta testers a chance to be 'preferred providers' that we will be sending conversion projects to ... assuming you want that kind of thing. Also, each tester will be given one free site-license to use the technology and if you're developer that will be something you can resell to a client. In our market research phase, that looks to be about a $1,500 price point but of course that depends on your sales chops.

In truth, this might be more of an 'alpha-plus' test since we're looking for pretty detailed feedback on things like installation and documentation.

If you're interested, please reply to beta@penseodor.com and tell us a bit about yourself, your experience, and any particular experience you have with Flash/SEO issues.

Can you explain further or post a link to further information as to what you have? A little background info and capabilities would be interesting to know. I can hardly imagine what it is you have however aside from what can already be done for free with some effort?

Hi PRG9,
In many ways, you are correct. We have not made a quantum leap in programming. It's more like a package that brings several interrelated techniques into a convenient framework. So it's more targeted at the Flash Script-Kiddie than the accomplished Flash-Jedi.
But it does include SEO indexing and footprinting, deep linking, analytics integration and an optional content management system.

http://www.penseodor.com -- under construction animated gif? Is that you?

You wish for people to tell about themselves, their experience etc., so why so secret sharing information in regards to what your doing or a little detail on things? I am not trying to cause problems here Cryptopur but usually even with Beta/Alpha programs there is typically some general info for those interested who wish to be apart of the testing program and also just info for the general public as well. Having an overall framework as you describe sounds interesting. However are you reinventing the wheel or using existing frameworks that already do as you described and combining them all together?

Also its hard to imagine your perspective clients being "Script-Kiddies" as you put it and then up-selling an additional $1500 onto their Script-Kiddie project costs. Especially since all the features you have described can be found for free with existing frameworks, or as cheaper add-ons to achieve such features. So again some info about your project would be nice.

Its rather confusing to comprehend what your offering here. More info into your project would be beneficial for anyone interested.

Hi PRG9 - I'm don't feel like you're causing problems at all. In fact, I'm totally new to this kind of thing and frankly I don't know what's normal, what's expected or what's fair. Frankly, your questions are exactly the kind of thing I need to get right. :)
In the same vein, I'm not trying to be evasive or secret, I'm just not sure what you're looking for.

Yes, that is us at Penseodor.com with the under construction sign. The folks who are working the marketing don't want to create a public site yet until they know that the product works. So the idea is to get a few experienced Flash developers to look at what we have and tell us what they think. Is it worth anything? If so, what? Is it easy (enough) to use? If not, how could it be better?

So all of your questions are great ones, but I think you're maybe getting the cart before the horse. Right now, I'm just trying to find a handful of people who would be willing to look at what we have and give us honest feedback. And the only reason I'm asking a few questions about the testers themselves is because we're specifically looking for folks who can be constructivly critical of what we have. Someone with little or no experience in the isuess involved won't really be able to help us since they aren't familiar with the problem.

It sounds like you have a bunch of great insight into this problem and the market as well - I'd love to tell you all about Penseodor, every nook and cranny. But I'm sure you understand that if we do have something valuable here, there's a fair reason why we want to protect our IP until we're ready to put it out in the public.
Does that seem fair to you?

I think it sounds pretty interesting. It may help everyone if it helps workflow.
